In the autumn of 2023, artist Ruth Canning placed an old red analogue telephone in a small, quiet room at an independent bookshop in the coastal town of Folkestone. Wind Phone remained there for only one long weekend — a temporary place created for the local community.
This example shows that Wind Phone does not have to be permanent or situated in nature. Sometimes, a quiet room, an old telephone, and a little time alone are enough.
